Share the Harvest Community Farm was established in 2015 as a grassroots effort to alleviate hunger in our community. Run primarily by volunteers, the Farm has grown and harvested 107,866 pounds of fresh produce, providing a total of 431,464 servings to families in Cabarrus and Rowan Counties. The Farm is an excellent opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to give back to their community. Whether it's planting, weeding, harvesting produce, or washing vegetables before they're delivered, there's something for everyone.
We are proud to partner with Atrium Health, Cooperative Christian Ministry, Concord First Assembly, The City of Kannapolis, McGill Baptist Church, Operation Breadbasket, Saint James the Greater, and Freedom Christian Worship Center, to implement the Share the Harvest Community Farm.
According to regional and Cabarrus County need assessments, there is a demand for varied fresh food options serving socioeconomically challenged populations. The goal of the Share the Harvest Community Farm is to bring fresh vegetable options to many residents in the Cabarrus County community while offering unique volunteer and educational opportunities.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves, but the YMCA also provides them for those who don't have any. Dress according to the weather (heat/sun = sunscreen and hats; cold/wind=warm layers). You will get dirty, so boots or old shoes are recommended. Bring a water bottle.
The farm is closed during thunder and lightning. However, we have worked in light rain and drizzle. Field conditions dictate whether volunteers work the farm on any given day.
