General Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the YMCA’s mission and community impact. By signing up as a General Volunteer, you may be called upon to assist with a wide variety of tasks across the YMCA that are not connected to a specific event or project. General Volunteers provide flexible, dependable support that helps the YMCA create meaningful, positive change in the lives of individuals and families in our community.

To ensure the safety and well‑being of all participants, especially children, all General Volunteers are required to complete Child Abuse Prevention training and must successfully pass background and reference checks before beginning service. These safety measures help maintain a secure, trustworthy environment and uphold the YMCA’s commitment to protecting youth and supporting safe, positive experiences for everyone.
